FORT WORTH -- Charles D. Wright, III, age 76, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Raleigh NC, from complications of diabetic coma. He resided in Fort Worth, TX, but was visiting his daughter in Raleigh at the time of his death.
Charles was born October 17, 1935 in Houston, TX, to Charles D. Wright Jr. and Mildred Gardner Wright. He spent his childhood in Moody, TX, and graduated from Moody High School in 1954. He was the recipient of a scholarship to Texas A&M University, he graduated in 1958 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He completed two tours of duty in the United States Army and retired after a career in the oil well service industry from Otis Engineering, a Halliburton Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Jeanerette, LA.
"Charlie," as his many friends and his family called him, is survived by his wife, Neva Davis-Wright of Fort Worth; sons, Porter Wright and his wife, Patti, of Belton, TX; Mike Wright of New Iberia, LA, and Chad Wright and his wife, Michelle of El Paso, TX; daughters, Debbie Bohannan and her husband, Dennis of West, TX and Amanda Wright of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Colby Bohannan, Nick Wright, and Whitley Wright; granddaughters, Kari McKillop, Julie Manjarrez, Lindsey Bohannan, Allison Abshire, Cameron Wright, Sarah Wright and Annie Wright; brother, Jack G. Wright of Amarillo, TX. Preceding him in death were his son, Garrett Wright; and sisters Winnie Sue and Jane.
A graveside service will be held at Moody Cemetery, Moody, TX, on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 1 PM. The family has suggested any memorials be in the form of donations to favorite charities of choice in lieu of flowers.
