Cheryl Laree Child

April 24, 1956 — March 11, 2022

Cheryl LaRee (Anderson) Child age 65 passed away on Friday, March 11,2022. Her kindness, strength, wanderlust, and love for Jesus will always be remembered and treasures by all who loved her.

Cheri was born April 24, 1956 in Kearny, Nebraska to Harold Anderson and Carol JoDean Holen. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln,Nebraska in 1974. Attended Columbia College in MO receiving her Associate Arts degree and then earned her Bachelor degree at LeTourneau University Summa Cum Laude in Longview, Texas.

On November 9, 2002 was united in marriage to Quinn H. Child in Dallas, TX and made their home in Colleyville, TX in 2003.

Cheri excelled in every aspect of her life. Her professional career centered on the travel industry with American Airlines , 1979 thru 2002 and served in many different positions, Airport Operations agent, Sabre Specialist, Customer Sales, Analyst for Interline and Industry Affairs, AMR Services and Flight Services . During her time in Flight Service she was worldwide chairperson for IATA-IGHC (Ground Handling Council) and her final job was with Servisair 2003- 2010. These jobs tied in with her love of seeing and exploring the world. Her travels during employment and retirement included Bali, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia,Cambodia, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Zambia, Namibia, Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Germany UK, Spain, Switzerland and her two most favorite place , South Africa wine country and on safari in Botswana.

Cheri also enjoyed golfing, and watching Nebraska and TCU football. Cheri was lifelong Christian attending New Life, Irving Bible and Church 121 during her years in DFW area. She volunteered for Gatehouse Women Shelter and was an advocate for Casa- Fort Worth.

Cheri was preceded in death by her mother, JoDean and sister, Kim.
She is lovingly survived by her husband Quinn H Child, her father Harold Anderson, her sister Canda Way, step-daughter Jenna Child, niece Chelsi Way, nephew Cory (Candace)Way , one grand niece and two grand nephews and numerous loving family and friends.
