Cheryl Collins Obituary

April 17, 1950 - July 23, 2024

Cheryl Ann Gray Collins, 74, left this earth, surrounded by family, on July 23, 2024 at Texas Health Southwest in Ft. Worth, Texas. Cheryl was born on April 17, 1950, the youngest of six children to Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) Gray of Washington, Indiana. She spent her teenage years in Florida where she graduated high school in 1969. As a young girl, Cheryl loved the beach and was known for her beauty and vivacious laugh.

Cheryl was a devoted wife of almost 52 years, marrying Eddie Collins in 1972. They welcomed two daughters into their world, Rayanna and Lesley. They lived many years in San Antonio, Tx, Riverside, Fl, and Ft. Worth, Tx where Cheryl was a longtime employee of American Airlines where she excelled at project management. The couple retired to Brock, Tx where they enjoyed gardening, collecting stray dogs, and watching sunsets on their porch swing. Cheryl shined as a grandmother to Sierra, Jake, Ryder, Jaxon, Parker, and Sydney. Her love for the grandkids knew no bounds. She created magical holidays for her family by meticulously planning the menu and curating special gifts. Christmas will never be the same without her.

Cheryl is preceded in death by both parents and sister Janice Ballard of Indiana. She's survived by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, sister Carolyn Brown, and brothers Gary Gray, Robert Gray, and Ronnie Gray. In addition, she was loved by precious in-laws, along with many nieces and nephews.
