The Honorable Christine Marie Gilbreath, 50, passed away March 27, 2021 at her home in Crowley, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at Crouch Event Center, 900 E Glendale St, Crowley, Tx 76036 at 3:00 PM April 9, 2021.
Christine was born November 19, 1970 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to John and Delores Sando. She grew up in Coral Springs, Florida. She graduated from Nanticoke High School in Nanticoke Pennsylvania in 1989. She joined the Army in 1991 and served for 2 years, 9 months before she was honorably discharged in 1993. She achieved the rank of PFC. Christine began working for Tom Thumb as a Regional Hiring Coordinator, where she worked for 3 years. She involved in Family Readiness Group for the 2-149th Aviation Battalion, State Family Programs, Texas Military Forces Family Support Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society Board, Crowley City Council, and Marriage Management.
She married Scott in 1993 in Bov, Denmark, and they were happily married for 27 years. She enjoyed cooking for others. She also received National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Marksman Badge for M-16 and grenade, NCO Spouse of the Year Award, Freedom Table Award, The Texas Adjutant General’s Spirit Award, NCO Spouses Award for Excellence, Order of Our Lady Loreto Award, Family Readiness Group of the Year, The Lonestar Award, The Texas Star Award, Commander’s Award for Civilian Service, Exceptional Volunteer Award, Texas Military Forces Friendship Award, National Guard Gold Award, National Guard Military Spouse of the Year, Council Member of the year.
Christine was preceded in death by her mother, Delores and step-mother, Leslie.
Christine is survived by her husband, Scott; son, John Gilbreath; daughter, Kaitlyn Gilbreath; father, John Sando; brothers, Jay Sando and wife, Bernice, Erick Tramell and wife, Marcia and John Tramell and wife, Sherry; granddaughter, Hunter Grace Mauppin; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Gilbreath family, Marriage Management, or 22KILL.
