Christine “Chris” Caldwell Korte, 80, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away, Friday, December 10, 2021.
Chris was born on March 9, 1941, in Oil Springs, Kentucky to Riley and Bonnie Caldwell. On June 10, 1967, she married her husband of 49 years, William “Bill” Charles Korte. Chris loved life. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. All who knew her could tell you that she was very outspoken. She was the type of woman who would say it like it was. During her many years in customer service as a waitress and cashier, she worked very hard and instilled those same values to her children. Chris will be loved by her family and missed by all who knew her.
Chris is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Lynn Johnson of Kerrville, TX, her two sons, Rex Smith of Shiloh, IL and Danny Caudill of Ft. Worth, TX, her granddaughter, Rebecca Rockwood (Tanner) of Carrollton, TX, her grandsons, Shane Smith of Shiloh, IL and Richie Smith (Shanna) of Topeka KS, her brother, Malcolm Caldwell of Salyersville, KY, her sister, Kathy Hunley of Salyersville, KY, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C Korte, her son, James Smith, her parents, Riley and Bonnie Caldwell, her sister, Geraldine Bosch, her brothers, Mike, Melvin, and Marvin Caldwell.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX on Tuesday, December 14th. Funeral services for Chris will be held on Wednesday, December 15th at 2:00 PM at the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel. Chris will be buried at the Bourland Cemetery in Keller, TX. The family request that in lieu of flowers in honor of Chris you may donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
