Christopher David Murray passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2016, at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, TX, surrounded by fellow police officers and his family at the age of 31.
Chris was born on March 4, 1985, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Dick and Jody Murray. He graduated from Murray High School in 2003 and went on to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tacoma, Washington. He married the love of his life, Hailey Klinger, for time and all eternity on April 25, 2008,in the Rexburg Idaho Temple. After moving to Fort Worth, Texas, in 2011, Chris worked for three years for the Frisco Police as a 911 dispatcher. He graduated from Police Academy on November 18, 2016, fulfilling his dream of becoming a Police Officer. The couple welcomed their daughter Lorelei into their family on November 4, 2014, and were looking forward to welcoming their son, Kaz, this upcoming January 2017. Chris was the perfect example of a selfless father and husband. Family will remember Chris as a tease, fun-loving, a fierce competitor and a great example through service and his continuous acts of kindness.
Chris was passionate about serving others which fit perfectly with his career choice as a Police Officer. He was an active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served in numerous callings. He loved sports and spending time with his family - especially trips to Disneyland.
Chris is survived by his mother Jody Murray Luthi and stepfather Frank Luthi of Utah, his sister Jamie Ulibarri, brother Derrick Murray, and sister Kathy Ancell also of Utah, eight nephews and two nieces, his wife Hailey Klingler Murray of Texas, daughter Lorelei Violet Murray and unborn son Kaz Weston Murray. He is preceded in death by his father Dick Murray.
A viewing is scheduled for Monday December 5, 2016, from 6 to 8 at the LDS Church 2509 Trophy Club Drive, Trophy Club, Texas. Chris will be laid to rest in Newdale, Idaho with a funeral service there officiated by Bishop Jason Grover on December 10, 2016.Viewing starts at 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM Funeral starts at 11:00 AM with burial services following.
