Clara Etta Jones

Clara Etta Meek Jones, 96, took that Glory Train to Heaven on Thursday, August 9, 2018.
Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Monday at Friendship Baptist Church, 1248 W. Hurst Blvd in Hurst. Interment: 3:00 P.M.Monday at Burkburnett Cemetery in Burkburnett. Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Church.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
Clara was born July 22, 1922 in Gowan, OK to the late William and Reilla Meek. She had nine siblings who have all preceded her in death. She married Virgle Jones on July 25, 1940 and they soon moved to Burkburnett. She was very proud to be a Pastor’s wife and to serve others. Even in her final years at Hurst Plaza, she was a true testimony and witness to the residents and staff.
Clara was a devoted mother and grandmother who will forever be missed.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Virgle Jones; son, Donald Jones; and grandson, Randy Jones.
Survivors: Son, Robert Jones and wife Judy of North Richland Hills; sister, Brenda Jones of Perry, OK; grandchildren, LaVonda Johnson and husband Lamar of Nashville, TN, Kevin Jones and wife Suzie of Richland Hills, and Carol Thompson and husband James of Perry, OK; 10 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
