Clona Nell Kelley

February 26, 1935 — August 11, 2016

Clona Kelley went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2016 at the age of 81. She was the wife of Delton Kelley. They shared 62 years of marriage.
Clona was born in the family home in Lorenzo, Texas and was the daughter of Harl and Addie Mae Cypert. She graduated from Lorenzo High School and then attended Draughon’s Business College in Lubbock. After graduating, she went to work for the Lorenzo CO-OP gin. Upon moving to Lubbock, she began keeping children and continued doing so until her grandkids started school. Her first love was always children.
She was a member of First Baptist Church-Grapevine for the past 35 years. She loved cooking. Her pies were delicious and the candy she made at Christmas was something everybody looked forward to. Clona shared her food with friends, family and neighbors. She enjoyed sewing for her grandkids and loved walking on the beach at Port Aransas, picking up shells and sand dollars. She could walk for miles up and down the beach each and every day. Delton had to ride a bike to keep up with her on their morning and evening walks. Throughout the years she also enjoyed cross stitch and making afghans.
Clona is survived by her husband Delton; her son, Benton Kelley and his wife, Barbara, of Grapevine; her daughter, Dana Jacobson and her husband, Allen, of San Antonio; and three grandchildren, Kristina Wallace and her husband, Brett, of Buffalo, NY, Jason Kennedy and his wife, Cassidy, of Austin and Chelsea Jacobson, of Grapevine.
The funeral service will be August 15, 2016 at 1:00 at First Baptist Church-Grapevine 301 E. Texas with interment at Bluebonnet Cemetery. The visitation will be Sunday August 14, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home 700 W. Wall St., Grapevine, TX 76051.
