Clovis Ellis Badgett, 96, of Burleson passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home. Graveside service with military honors will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Clovis was born January 27, 1923 to Edna Whaley Badgett and Eugene Hendrix Badgett in Blooming Grove, TX. He was a WWII Veteran that served two tours. He was on the 2nd wave of soldiers who stormed Omaha Beach in Normandy. On his first tour he received 5 bronze stars and was a rifle marksman and on the machine gun. During his time in WWII Clovis was part of retrieving American soldiers to be buried in Normandy.
Clovis was employed with Bell Helicopters and retired after 38 years of faithful service. He was also an avid fisherman and bird hunter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Helene Aimee Badgett; daughter, Edna Helen McWilliams; grandson, Jimmy McAdams; siblings, Edna Mae Gotcher, Robert Badgett and Olan Badgett.
Survivors: Daughters, Marie Christine Dowd and husband, George, Claudine A. Geisel and husband, Randy; Sons, Claude E. Badgett and wife, Valerie, Didiers Badgett; grandchildren, Bradley Bowland, Kelly Block, Stephanie Allgood, Rachel Earheart, Danielle Vernier, Emilie Harwell, Aimee Badgett, Lauren Badgett; great-grandchildren, Grace, Wyatt, Isabell, Alexandra, Amelia, Kendall, Kenlie, Stella, Laurel, Victoria, Mattie, Andy and great-great-grandson, Grayson.
