James Blount

Clyde James “Jim” Blount, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on December 30, 1947, in Charleston, South Carolina, and grew up in Owosso, Michigan. Graduating from Owosso High School in 1966. Jim worked as a Computer Specialist with Systematics, which had numerous name changes ending with Fidelity Information Services, Little Rock, Arkansas. He retired after 43 years in 2020. Jim was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather who found immense joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Jim was passionate about life and loved fishing, sailing, and golfing. His generous spirit extended beyond his family, as he was known for his unwavering desire to help those in need. A beloved coach and mentor, Jim touched the lives of many in his community, sharing his time, wisdom, and compassion.

He had a special talent for bringing people together. His love for socializing and hosting family gatherings created countless cherished memories, and he will always be remembered for his warm hospitality.

Jim's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, TX. A graveside service will take place at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Colleyville, TX, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 12:00 PM.

 Survivors include his wife, Kristine Blount, of 56 years; son, James Blount, and his spouse Annette; grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, Sarah, and Joshua Blount; daughter, Kristie Green, and spouse Alan; grandchild Taylor; son, Andrew Blount, and spouse Stephanie; grandchildren, Drew and Rori; and his sister, Janie Panagopoulos, and spouse, Dennis; and many nieces and nephews. 

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jim's honor.
