Coavert Lynn Hale was born to the late Covert and Birdie Hale on March 19, 1939. In his early life, he farmed with his father. He was a graduate of Roby High School. He soon after moved to Abilene where he would meet his future wife and the love of his life, Linda. They married on December 9th, 1960. After they married, they moved to Lubbock where he worked for Merchants Fast Motor Lines. He was soon transferred to Dallas with his company and the family settled in Euless with their children, Todd and Christi.
Coavert was blessed with a large and very loving family. He and Linda raised their children with patience, discipline and humility. He loved all sports, but especially when his children, and later grandsons played. He rarely ever missed a game. Coavert was very fondly known as Papaw to all that knew him. He was blessed with 2 grandsons, Garrett and Austin that completed his life. He was a devoted family man and was always there for anyone who needed him. He never met a stranger he wouldn't try to help.
He had a special gift of being a life educator. He believed in hard work and self discipline. He was never a man of excuses. He would take the time to engage with anyone that looked like they just needed an ear. He had the hugs that left you wanting more. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His grandsons loved to listen to their Papaw tell stories of his childhood. A legacy they will forever carry in their lives.
He was a devout Christian man and was proud of his church. Even when his health started to decline, he never missed a chance to watch on-line.
Coavert is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Linda; his children Todd and wife, Julie. His grandsons, Garrett and Austin; Daughter Christi (Sandra Harper). He also has many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother Tommy Edd and parents.
