Colby Danton Swagerty
April 14, 1948 – June 2, 2021
Colby D. Swagerty of Southlake, Texas passed away at home on June 2, 2021, surrounded by his family. Colby bravely battled tongue cancer and was cured. Sadly pancreatic cancer took his life. He will always be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Brother-in-Law, Friend and Colleague to those that knew and loved him.
He was born on April 14, 1948 to the late Fred and Helen Swagerty in Winslow, Arizona. Colby was an all around person. He loved classic cars, NASCAR racing, motorcycles, golfing, hunting, bowling, working in the yard, and throwing the tennis ball to his best boy, Casey. He worked for BNSF Railway for 37 years. His career path took him from Arizona to California, Kansas, Illinois, New Mexico and finally Fort Worth, Texas in 1996. He retired from BNSF in 2003.
Colby is survived by his wife Sharon, Southlake, Texas; his four children, his son, Gary Swagerty of Houston, Texas, his daughter, Ginger (Ian) Cameron of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, his daughter Jennifer (Timothy) Truesdell of Eltville Am Rhein, Germany, his son, Scott (Megan) Swagerty of Dubai, United Arab Emirates; eight grandchildren, T.C., Owen, Tyler, Lydia, Isaac, Nicholas, Evan and Sean; his sister, Cinda (LeRoy) Sawyer of Flagstaff, Arizona; one nephew and two nieces.
Colby was a good man and will be greatly missed.
The celebration of life service will be held July 15, 2021 at 1pm at White's Chapel United Methodist Church – Grace Chapel in Southlake, Texas.
