.Connie Tijerina Yanez was born on August 12th, 1936 in Robstown, Texas. She was one of nine children born to Fidencio and Conception Tijerina.
She graduated from Robstown High school in 1954. After high school she studied nursing and became an LVN nurse.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Adolf Yanez on August 27, 1960. The family moved from Corpus Christi, Texas to Dallas, Texas in 1978. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last year.
She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from East Texas State University and taught bilingual kindergarten in DISD for 20 years.
Connie was a very devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed family gatherings and traveling with her husband. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. She looked forward to saying rosary every morning and having coffee.
She is survived by her husband Adolf and her 3 daughters and their husbands. Yvette and Larry Brown, Yvonne and Cliff Petsch and Yelina and Elias Espinoza. She is also survived by her four sisters, Rachel Howe, Mary Flores, Angelica Taylor and Lupe Mooney. Connie has 13 grandchildren and 4 great, grandchildren.
