Cory Lloyd Newton passed away October 4, 2021. Cory was born in Farmington, NM on March 4, 1978. He grew up in Austin and Bedford, Texas.
In his youth he spent summer months and holidays with his grandparents and family in New Mexico. At the age of thirteen, Cory gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Euless, Texas. Cory graduated from Trinity High School in 1996. His love for Fine Arts and Theatre took him to Marymount Manhattan College in New York City where he graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts. Cory lived in New York City after graduation until 2009 when he returned to Bedford, Texas. He worked in the service industry in NYC, Austin, Dallas, and the DFW mid cities area. His passion for yoga inspired him to become a Yoga Instructor. He completed his training and received his Vinyasa Yoga Instructor certification in June 2021 from the Soul Sweat Hot Yoga Southlake Studio.

Cory will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We will not forget his boisterous laugh and hilarious comments. His big smile will forever be imprinted in our hearts. Cory was very creative and charming; he enjoyed singing, theatre, art, drawing, tap dancing, music, reading, musicals, classic movies, traveling, and most of all food. Cory was very particular about food and presentation. He enjoyed preparing meals for his family and friends. His friends and coworkers remember him for his laugh, jokes, and sincere love, support, and encouragement. Cory was looking forward to teaching yoga classes to encourage a healthy lifestyle in self-care. Cory had a big love for animals. He rescued small animals and loved spending time with family pets. His love and encouragement for his family, friends, coworkers, and community will not be forgotten.

He is survived by his Parents Lloyd and Leonora Newton of Bedford, Texas. Sister Dawn Newton Alexander and Niece Emily Alexander of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Grandmothers Ruby Newton and Lois D. Lee of Bloomfield, New Mexico. And numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends and coworkers.
