FORT WORTH -- Lt. Colonel Curtis Warren Scott, Jr., aka "Scotty", passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation; Wednesday, October 12, 6 to 8 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth. Graveside Service: Thursday, October 13, 10 a.m. at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, Fort Worth, TX.
Scotty was born in Fort Worth, Texas, April 19, 1931 and considered Fort Worth home through his many adventures with the United States Air Force. He graduated from Paschal High School and attended Texas Christian University. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was accepted into officer training school. Scotty served the USAF for 28 years as a navigator and an electronic weapons officer. He traveled all over the world including stints in Okinawa and Thailand during the Vietnam War.
After retiring from active duty, he returned to Fort Worth. In his spare time, he and his wife Linda did antiquing and gardening. Scotty created a vinyl record export business "Susan's Platters" which sold vinyl records all over the world. In his later years, Scotty enjoyed writing his recollections about rowing up in Fort Worth and his life in the military.
Scotty was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Linda. Survivors: Daughters Jean Rittenhouse of Kerrville, Donna Mattlock of Omaha, Nebraska and Susan Scott Wilson of Fort Worth. Grandchildren John, Calli, Paul and Ted; Great-grandchildren Charlotte and Evelyn.
