Curtiss was an extremely hard worker and entered the work force at a young age. He was on the security team at Billy Bob’s Texas and worked in the service department at Allen Samuels Dodge. Through his connections at the car dealership, he went to work for ADP, later CDK, where he was a Client Account Manager servicing computer systems in truck dealerships all over the country for 24 years. In 2017, he changed career paths and became a Superintendent for D.R. Horton Homes where he facilitated the building of numerous houses across the North Texas area from start to finish.
When Curt was young, he loved playing sports, riding dirt bikes and go carts, roller skating and performing his signature dive show at Burgers Lake. Curtiss met Christy in 1990 on the dance floor at Billy Bob’s and were inseparable thereafter. They were married March 11, 1994 then had their daughter Annie the following year on March 26, 1995. He loved playing golf any chance he could get, fishing with his uncles and men from church, country & western dancing with Christy and friends, any and all University of Texas sports, Dallas Mavericks basketball, floating in the pool with a cold beer on hot Texas days and keeping up with anything Annie had going on.
Curtiss was a dedicated husband, father and brother, a loyal friend, an extremely hard worker, a problem solver, handy man, cabana pool boy, grill master, professional dance dad and life of the party. He had the biggest servant heart and would do anything for anybody. He had so much personality and character – there isn’t anyone else in the world quite like him. He spent the last two days of his life in his favorite place, Greers Ferry Lake & the Tannenbaum Golf Course in Arkansas, playing too many holes of golf to count with dear friends and Jack Daniels. He will be greatly missed.
