Cynthia Henderson Baker

August 11, 1936 — March 20, 2016

Cynthia Baker passed away at home March 20, 2016 after a nineteen year battle with cancer.

Services: At Cynthia's request, private services will be held for the immediate family.

Cynthia was born in Mission, Texas in 1936. She spent all of her childhood years in Alice, graduating from high school in 1954. Later that year she married W. A. (Bill) Baker, who was her husband for 61 years. She had two children, a son Richard Kent and a daughter Cheryl Denise. After marriage she lived with her husband in Austin Texas; Syracuse New York; Arlington, Tyler and Keller Texas .

She was a beautiful person and a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and decorating her various homes. She volunteered for many years at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Cynthia was talented at many arts and crafts and had exquisite taste as was demonstrated by the beauty of her homes. After moving to Keller she joined First Baptist Church Keller where she developed many meaningful friendships. First diagnosed with cancer in 1997, she conducted her long fight with grace, dignity and a positive outlook. In doing so she was an inspiration to many others fighting that dreadful disease. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors: Husband, W. A. (Bill) Baker of Keller; son, Kent Baker of Grapevine; daughter, Cheryl and son-in-law John FitzGibbon: grandson, Kyle FitzGibbon of Keller; sister Karen Marr of Texarkana; the extended family of her late sister Dorothy Colwell of Tucson, Arizona.
