Cynthia “Cindy” Kay Walton, 72, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Following a long battle with Huntington's disease, she passed away peacefully at her Colleyville home with family by her side. Her body was finally made perfect and she is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Cindy was born on June 21, 1950, in Harlingen, Texas. She was the middle of three children born to Ted and Lynn Kerr. Cindy was raised in Harlingen, and after high school, attended and graduated from Abilene Christian College, where she met her husband Wayne Walton. Together they had three sons Andy, Cody and Brad. As a young wife and mother, Cindy poured herself into supporting her husband and raising her children by creating the best home possible.
Cindy shared her many talents through her work as a middle school Bible teacher at Fort Worth Christian. She also spent time working for Country Floral at Dallas Market Hall, however her greatest calling was to provide and care for her family.
Cindy enjoyed antique shopping, going to garage sales, hosting parties and her 42 domino group. She was an entertainer and always wanted to make people feel welcome. She loved to travel and attend all her sons sporting events.
Although Cindy served others in many different ways, her most important calling was teaching her children to love the Lord and making an impact in others lives. Cindy was involved in many women's groups and loved attending Bible studies/ladies classes. She left an incredible legacy for her family to follow for many years to come.
Cindy was one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, beautiful inside and out. She was an encourager and lived everyday to honor God.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father Ted Kerr, her mother Lynn Kerr and her brother Robert Kerr. Cindy is survived by her husband Wayne Walton of 51 years; her sister Carol and husband Ted Poe of Driftwood, Texas; her sister-in-law Judy Kerr of Springfield, Ohio; her sons of Fort Worth, Texas, Andy Walton, Cody Walton and wife Chesley, Brad Walton and wife Kelly; her grandchildren Kennedy, Brecklyn, Garron, Garrett, Ansley, Londyn, Emerson, Mallory, Landry, Miller and Ryland. All of her family was blessed by her loving and caring heart.
A visitation with the family will be held Monday, July 25th from 6-8 PM at the Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 26th 11AM at The Hills Church in North Richland Hills. All are invited to attend and share in Cindy’s life celebration.
