Danny Ray Waltenbaugh, 73, passed away February 12, 2021] at his home in Burleson. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 1, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Danny was born February 19, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Fernley Waltenbaugh. He grew up in Bridgeview, Illinois, and he went to Oak Lawn High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois. After high school he attended Moraine Valley Community College in Chicago and University of Houston in Houston. He joined the United States Navy in 1964 and served for 6 years, being honorably discharged in 1970. He served in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze stars. Danny worked as a licensed commercial electrician for over 45 years, and was involved in volunteer work for the city of Burleson at both the Fire Department and the Police Department.
Danny married Kathy Sain in 1991 in Fort Worth, and they were happily married for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Fernley Waltenbaugh.
Danny is survived by his wife, Kathy; stepdaughters, Kim Solida of Virginia and Tiffany Winfrey of North Carolina; sister, Diana Lawrence of Bridgeview, Illinois; and grandchildren Caitlin, Melanie, Leila, and Liam.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many workers that assisted Danny over the last three years and all the family and friends for their prayers.
