May 5, 1947 — September 29, 2023

Daphne A. Browne – Baxter
Daphne Baxter of Grapevine, Texas, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, September 29th, 2023, at 76. Daphne was born May 5th, 1947, to George and Nessie Browne in Lisburn, County Antrim, in Northern Ireland. She grew up in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, where she met her lifelong love, AJ Baxter of Coleraine. She leaves behind a loving husband, AJ Baxter, a daughter, Tonya Baxter of Grapevine, TX, and a son, Anthony Baxter of Southlake, TX. Sister Elizabeth Cree, husband George, nephews Collin and Richard, great nephews Sammy Sunshine & James, Northern Ireland; niece Nicky Fisher and wife Carol Wood Robertsbridge, United Kingdom; niece Wendy Fisher and husband Waleed Rauf of Torrox, Spain; nephew Michael Baxter and wife Paula McCloy of Portland, Oregon. Her parents, George & Nessie Browne, and her sister, Adrienne Fisher, preceded her in death.

Daphne was a vibrant, loving, funny, and all-around special person. She brought and left a little sparkle wherever she went, and her sparkle showed through her smile; everyone would comment that she had a beautiful smile. Her favorite color was blue; she adored Charles Barkley and any British mystery series PBS offered. In earlier years, Daphne was a Brownie & Girl Scout Leader in Northern Ireland & California. She was a military bride brought to the United States in September 1968. Daphne worked for the Grapevine Colleyville school district and Dillard's department store. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed the theater. Les Miserables was the musical she enjoyed, and sailing around the Caribbean was another joy she did AJ. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas; she loved having friends over for her annual holiday extravaganza. It was just an excuse to have her favorite people over to open Christmas crackers and laugh. The world will be a little less bright with her not in it.

Per the family's request, no funeral or memorial will be scheduled at this time.
