Darryl Lamar Broxton

March 20, 1963 — August 10, 2023

Darryl L. Broxton “ Iron Man” was born on March 20, 1963 to his beloved parents Maddielean Broxton and Lamar Broxton. Darryl was a phenomenal leader and an outstanding father, grandfather, sibling, uncle, cousin and husband. He was a great pillar in his community and served for over 20 years as a NJ State Trooper as well as many other governmental agencies in Texas. He dedicated his life to serving his country and lived for his children. Darryl was a member of the Funkytown Riderz Motorcycle Club and the local Lions Club in his town among many other leadership roles in his community. Darryl unfortunately passed away peacefully on Aug 10 in the hospital from complications of a pulmonary embolism. Darryl was battling Leukemia for a few years and was so strong and always a “Smiling Gentle Giant Super Hero” and no one would ever imagine that he had cancer. Darryl was truly “Iron Man” as he always constantly referred himself to be. “A Giant Texan” as he would call himself once he relocated from NJ. He was always positive, sharp, witty, fun and constantly cracking a corny dad joke and pulling pranks! His favorite thing to do as a prank on his children was to hide a speaker somewhere in the house on full volume and have a blood curdling scream play on full blast volume as you would walk by. He thought it was hilarious every time! Darryl was one word… Extraordinary!

Darryl is survived by his children: Tiffany Melissa Broxton, Dara Justine Broxton (Deceased,) Cassandra S Broxton, and Darryl L Broxton II. His grandchildren: Jourden Anthony Broxton, Kaylei Isabella Morgan, Kaia Kelly, and Mila Kelly. His siblings: Anthony Broxton, Angela Broxton, Barry Broxton, Fatima Broxton, Courtney Broxton, and Bryon Broxton (Deceased.) His nieces and nephews: Elliot Broxton, Justina Terry, Brittnay Broxton, Ian Broxton, and Ethan Broxton, Jaylen (great niece, ) Brandon( great nephew)and Miller ( great nephew.) Darryl is also survived by a plethora of other family members. Darryl was always full of joy and was definitely the beacon of light as soon as his presence graced any room. He is truly our Hero here on earth and God needed him more. He will be forever loved and deeply missed. Long Live Trooper Darryl “Iron Man” Broxton.
