David Dewayne Boyer

David Dewayne Boyer was born on January 25, 1973 to Smokey and Louise Boyer in Tomball, Texas. David was born with two other brothers, Gary and Robert, and a sister Debbie. The story has it that his nickname for the first few months was "The Judge", because of his stern jaw line, with a dimple under his bottom lip, and no one could get him to smile, except his sister. At age 1, David and his family moved to Weatherford, Texas and then at age 5 they moved to Hurst, where David attended Bellaire Elementary School.

This is where David learned to swim, ride his bike and start karate. He thought he was going to be the next Chuck Norris. David also started Pee Wee Football. A funny story, (statute of limitations has expired) at sign up they told his parents he needed cleats. They told him they would get them for him before his first game. David did not want to wait, so at age 7, he walked to the shoe store just around the corner and took/stole a pair of ADULT cleats. He was so proud of those cleats! His mom came home and found the cleats and marched him back to the store where he was told to apologize. David did get his cleats and they were the right size this time. The family then moved to NRH's where David learned that he liked fireworks. He lit the emergency flares in the family motorhome, got scared threw them down which set it on fire and burned it to the ground. From an early age, we could all tell that David wanted an exciting life even if he had to make one up !!!

The family then moved to Watauga where David attended North Oaks Middle School. Around this time is when David discovered his love for BMX Bike Racing. He competed almost every weekend which became a family event! His mother said he was a social butterfly on the track as well as in school. David found what he loved and was good at. David also played football, there again where he was a social butterfly and just loved to be around people. David went to Haltom High School and graduated in 1992. This is where he learned his style of dressing, "CC", country and classy! David spent 2 hours starching and ironing his clothes, I'm serious! He has always been known to family members as "Bubba", except by his niece Ashlee, who was born in 1993. When Ash was a young child she had a Pepsi and David decided he wanted it. She yelled "No butthead". The next time Ash saw David she yelled out "Uncle Butthead", and so it began!!

David is remembered for his love and care for people. He would do anything for you including giving you his last dollar. He wanted everyone to love him, just as he loved them. David lost his dad at a very young age and struggled with that every day, but stayed close to his family. Later, David became the proud father of his daughter Aubree and son Calvin. Although he could not be the father he wanted too, he loved them very much and bragged about them all the time. David had a heart of gold and was a hard worker.

He always worked somewhere to pay his child support, he did not want to be a dead-beat dad. He later found his job passion in the oilfield business where he worked for a couple companies, mostly in the water transfer business. David would spend hours talking to his brother in law, Chad (my Bro) trying to explain how it all worked and where the water was pumped from, then cleaned, then pumped back to the site. He would text silly pictures of himself in the field, or a picture of a rattlesnake, or a coyote, or 2 foot of snow with a saying about how dang cold it was. More than anything David loved the man-camps, the comradely and cooking out with his oilfield buddies. However, he did love coming home on his days off. His home passions were mostly hunting, smoking BBQ, sleeping, eating and most of all country music DANCING. David's second home was "the north side". He and his buddy Jason spent many nights roaming Fort Worth, making new friends, and running into old ones. David could always be seen wearing his starched pants and his cowboy hat scooting across the dance floor. We will miss you dearly Bubba, rest in peace and we love ya! David passed away at his man-cave in Midland on his 47th birthday, January 25, 2020. (Here's to you Bubba)
