David Michael Hitt, D.O., passed from this life on June 26, 2015 in Grapevine, Texas. He leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Karen Hitt, and his children Heather Hitt Kramer and Stuart Kramer of Dallas and their children Hayden, Harper and Carson; Holly Hitt Mason and Andy Payne of Dallas and their children Mia and Anna Clare, and Hilary Hitt of Austin. Stepchildren Cody Seals of Joshua, Texas and Sterling Day of Dallas; grandchildren Blake Day, Tyler Day, Courtney Seals, Austin Seals, Cameron Cole, Kate Chadwick and Carson Day; sister Patti Hitt Lefler of Ashland, and her children Natalie and Cameron; as well as brother Tim Hitt of Ashland. He was preceeded in death by his parents John and Jane Hitt of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Dr. Hitt attended Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas, Class of 1964, North Texas State University in Denton, Texas where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was boarded by the American College of Osteophathic Family Physicians and American College of Ambulatory Care. Dr. Hitt practiced medicine in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area for 35 years, then retired in 2013. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Forth Worth, and was a devoted husband, physician and family man held in high esteem by his peers and he will be greatly missed by all.
