David W. James, 80, of Bedford, Texas, peacefully passed away at home on June 1, 2023.
David was born on December 17, 1942 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Clarence Ernest James and Bess Woods James. He graduated from the University of Chattanooga, now the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was a member of the Reserve Officer Training Corp and Sigma Chi Fraternity. David served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era. His entire career was spent with IBM where he retired after 42 years.
David was an officer and a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He was kind, sincere and a loyal friend. There was not an ounce of self-importance about him. He had a marvelous sense of humor. But, most of all, he was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, three sons, two daughters, a brother, two sisters and three granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at Living Word Lutheran Church, Grapevine, Texas. Burial will be at Cathedral...
