David Wayne Kuss

David Wayne Kuss, age 62, of Houston, Texas (Former Sweetwater, Texas resident) passed away Monday, January 25, 2015 surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, Hurst Texas, with Deacon Harry Heinz officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery, Euless, Texas. Rosary service will be Friday, January 29, 2016, at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with the family visitation following the Rosary service. A celebration of David's life will be held in Sweetwater, Texas at a later date.
David was born August 29, 1953 in Sweetwater, Texas to Edgar Kuss and Dorothy (Kubena) Kuss. He attended and graduated from Sweetwater High School where he was in S.H.S Marching Band. David loved baseball and all sports, and loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He worked at SAS successfully setting up displays for tradeshows for 16 years.
David will be remembered as a fun loving Friend, Uncle, Son, Father, Brother, Cousin. His sports fanaticism was unparalleled. A perfect example is in 1995 when the Atlanta Braves battled their way into The World Series. Their biggest fan could be found in front of the television seated in his favorite recliner with a Dr. Pepper in his left hand and a toy tomahawk in his right hand. When the fans in Fulton County Stadium began to chant their support for the Braves, David was right there with them doing the tomahawk chop. There are numerous fun times to remember. All of our friends and family will miss him, and we look forward to reuniting with him in heaven.
David is preceded in death by his father Edgar Kuss and brother Stephen Kuss.
Survived by his sons, Kyle Kuss of Houston, TX, and Matt Kuss of Lewisville, TX, mother, Dorothy Kuss; sister Marilyn Kuss, both of Sweetwater, TX, brothers John Kuss and Philip Kuss both of Austin, TX; aunts, Gladys Kuss Light, of Abilene, Texas; and Linda Kubena, of Snyder, TX; niece, Lori Williams and husband Darren, of Springtown, TX; nephews, Kevin Simmons and fiance, Angie Draper, of Dallas, TX, Brandon Kuss and his wife Kim, of Sweetwater, TX; and Kameron and Karson Kuss of Austin, TX and great-niece and nephew Allison and Mason Williams. Also surviving David are numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be John Kuss, Philip Kuss, Brandon Kuss, Kevin Simmons, Mason Williams, and Tony Darling.
The family request that in lieu of flowers that the donor's choose the charity of their choice.
