David Parr

David " Dave" Parr, 89, passed away Monday evening, July 8, 2024.

Born the youngest of four children to William and Marie Parr in Baltimore, Maryland on February 12, 1935.

He worked in the food industry for many years before transitioning into Incentive sales. He had a passion for family, local community, and a variety of other activities including coaching, bowling, golf & tennis.

Dave attended Calvert Hall High School in Baltimore where he broke many athletic records. He excelled in football, hockey, Lacrosse & baseball. He was awarded a football scholarship to Villanova University outside of Philadelphia where he met his wife Margaret Anne Dowd. They were engaged for 3 years before marrying and uniting then traveling on to a 68 year journey.

Dave wore many titles: husband, dad, brother, son, friend, president, Coach. He began coaching in the 70s after he fell in love with tennis. He started training his daughter Christine in that very sport. Who would go on the the Hall of Fame at KU. Dave also coached his son Thomas in hockey & baseball. Dave loved volunteering and his local community and was president of the Kenilworth Club for countless years.

He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers August and Theodore and his sister Patrica.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Parr, his children Dave Jr, Margaret Dzubnar, Christine McGowan & Thomas Parr. He also is survived by 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
