David Joe Redd

April 4, 1945 — July 7, 2022

David Joe Redd was born on April 4, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to Jack and Bertha Redd. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church community for many years. David passed in peace on July 7, 2022 after a brief illness.

David married the love of his life, Nancy Ann Redd on February 14, 1976. They were soul mates and best friends for 32 years before her passing in 2008. David was blessed with a large and loving family. Nancy and David raised four beautiful children. David worked as a Computer Programmer for the same organization for 55 years right up until his illness began earlier this year. He loved what he did and enjoyed working with the people he had the pleasure of calling friends.

David could play a mean game of ping pong and had many wonderful adventures competing in tournaments. He was soft spoken and never had a negative word to say about anyone. David had the biggest heart and was so generous when there was ever a need and most times, when there wasn't. He had a love for sports, movies, math, and music. He enjoyed playing 42, doing yard work, and feeding the birds. David felt blessed to be surrounded by wonderful neighbors who always looked out for him. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy Ann Redd, brother Sam Redd, sister-in-law Nancy Jo Redd, and sister Mary Sue Lancaster. He is survived by his children; daughter Robbin (Kelly) Johnson, son Sam Redd, son Will (Lisa) Redd, son Joey Redd, and daughter-in-law Macey Redd - grandchildren; Kaela (Dusty) Jump, Kerry Johnson, Jordan Redd, Kiley Redd, and great-grandchildren; Mady, Landon, Jace, and Charlee; nephews Dave Chapman and Kyle Redd, niece Sherry Ann Mathena and brother-in-law Pat Lancaster.
