David Ronald Riddle, Sr, 78, of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away on August 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Family and friends will share laughter and tears at visitation on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the atrium of The Hills Church in North Richland Hills beginning at 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 pm in The Hills Church worship center. David was born in Los Angeles and moved to Fort Worth at the age of ten. He graduated in 1960 from Carter Riverside High School. He and his wife Marva met in the youth group at their church.
He began his insurance career with Aetna Life & Casualty and continued his education in several areas, including receiving his CLU designation. He was appointed General Agent in Charlotte, North Carolina. At that time, he was the youngest General Agent with the Aetna in the United States. He later had his own business as an independent insurance agent.
David was a member of The Hills Church and served as an Elder for many years until his death. He was an encourager and was energized by being around people, especially his friends and family.

This organization was chosen by the family because of the time David spent at a camp for disadvantaged children when he was in elementary school. As an adult, he told stories about how impactful that experience was on his life.
David is survived by his wife, Marva Riddle; daughter, Stacey Bowen & husband Mark; son, David Riddle, Jr. & partner Dr. Patrick Burkart; grandchildren, Marcus Bowen & Marti Bowen; sister, Linda Riddle; beloved dog, Chewy; and many loving extended family members.
