David Gerard Swihart

David Gerard Swihart, 54, died on October 17, 2018 surrounded by his family.

David was born January 8, 1964, in Oklahoma City and was a 1982 graduate of Nolan Catholic High School. He and Suzan Lane Swihart were married 31 years and had two children, John Donald Swihart II, 29, and Shelby Linnea Swihart, 24.

David spent his career putting things together, from office spaces to machinery parts. He enjoyed deep sea diving, fishing, and bird hunting at the family ranch in Oklahoma – especially because he was a far better shot than his brother! At family gatherings, Dave could be found at the grill.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Suzan, and his mother, Mary Nixon Swihart. Survivors include his son John Donald and his wife, Vanessa; and daughter Shelby Linnea and her fiancé, Tim Schwab. David is also survived by his father, John; sisters, Susan Swihart Knippel and Kathy Swihart Laupus; and his brother Timothy Swihart. He had nieces and nephews, cousins and assorted in-laws and outlaws who loved him well.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 at Lucas Funeral Home; 1601 S. Main Street, Keller. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 22 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hobart, Oklahoma, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery
