On Saturday, August 28, 2021, Debra Hale, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the young age of 64.
Deb was born on May 11, 1957, in Naperville, Ill. to Jerry and Laura Edwards. Born into a military family, she lived in New Jersey and Virginia before moving to Texas. She completed several courses at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, before beginning a family and career. On Nov. 29, 1980, she married Robert Hale. They were married for 26 years and had one son. She spent the majority of her career in the mortgage industry as a loan underwriter where she met many lifelong friends.
As an avid animal lover, Deb had a passion for animals and always dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. She also loved helping people. There is not anything she wouldn’t do for you if she was able. She found peace and joy in her devotion to the Catholic faith and was very active in the church. Deb was a big fan of John Denver, Pepsi, Dove chocolates, traveling, angels, Thomas Kinkade paintings, The Phantom of the Opera, her dog, Bentley, crosswords, puzzles, and Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate ice cream. She was never shy about talking about her family, and she was never happier than when she was able to spend time with her grandchildren.
From spending each Thanksgiving with her family and friends in St. Louis, to making regular visits to Houston to see her brothers, nieces and nephew, she found her purest joy in spending time with those she loved.
Deb was preceded in death by her father, Jerry; her mother, Laura; and a brother, Michael.
She is survived by her son, Brian; her two grandchildren, Jaden and Landry; her brother, Gary; her nieces, Courtney and Laura; her nephew, Jonathan; her many cousins; and her dearest friends who she always considered her family.
A service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas, at 11:30 a.m.
