FLOWER MOUND -- Debra Gwyn Watson, 58, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, following a courageous battle against a sudden illness.

Celebration of life: A celebration of Debra's life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Chapel, 1321 Precinct Line Road. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Greenville, she was born Aug. 9, 1954, to J.A. and Vodene Ragsdale. Debbie graduated from Greenville High School in 1972. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in fashion merchandising from East Texas State University, Commerce, in 1978.
Debbie worked in fashion and retail as a store manager, as well as a clothing model and sales rep for Act One at the Dallas Apparel Mart.

From 1982 through 1985, Debbie served as an executive assistant for the Multi-National Force and Observers (MFO) in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt. She traveled to many destinations, including Giza, Egypt, Jerusalem, Greece and Africa, as well as many European countries.

Upon returning to the U.S., she was employed by American Airlines. She retired from American in March 2013 after 26 years of service. Debbie continued her love of travel while working for American Airlines.

In 2009, Debbie married William "Bill" W. Watson in Dallas. Debbie and Bill built a beautiful life together, making their home in Flower Mound.

Debbie loved gourmet cooking, interior decorating, gardening, shopping and fashion, but most of all, spending time with her husband, Bill, and her dog, Coco Chanel.

Debbie was a faithful member of the Church of Christ all of her life.

Preceding her in death were her parents, J. A. and Vodene Ragsdale of Greenville, and her brother, Gerald Ray Ragsdale of Dallas.

Survivors: Debbie is survived by her husband, Bill Watson of Flower Mound; sister, Joyce Hanna and husband, David Hanna, of Grand Prairie; twin brother, Mike Ragsdale and wife, Harriet Ragsdale, of McKinney; nieces and nephews, Jamie and JD Northrup of California, Jessica Ragsdale of Dallas, Preston and Bailey Ragsdale of McKinney, Mark and John Ragsdale of McKinney, Shane Ragsdale and his daughter, Sariah Ragsdale, of Hawaii; as well as many friends from American Airlines, Legacy Church of Christ, and Greenville High School alumni.
