Delinda Griffith Martinez

Delinda Griffith Martinez, age 46 of Burleson Texas, passed away at her home on Monday, October 31, 2016. She was born to Robert Griffith and Delois Sherman Griffith on December 17, 1969.

A lifelong Burleson resident, Delinda graduated from Burleson High School in 1988 and attended the University of North Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management in 1993. She met her husband Angel Martinez while working together at the Anatole Hotel, and they married on November 21, 1998.

Delinda later discovered her passion for helping children. She served out this mission as a Certified Academic Language Therapist and Licensed Dyslexia Therapist at The Key School and private tutor, helping students overcome learning differences to realize their highest potential. She always kept and cherished the sweet notes from her students.

A foodie at heart, Delinda enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading and board games, and always looked forward to semi-annual trips to the lake with her girlfriends. A consummate daddy’s girl, she was always very close to her father, and adored her cats, Moby, Mingo and the late Maggie, even claiming fluency in Maine Coon and Tonkinese.

She is survived by her loving husband Angel Martinez and parents Robert and Delois Griffith of Burleson, Texas; sister Nikki Wilson, her husband David and nephews Sean and Travis of Fort Worth, Texas; as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 4201 Mitchell Blvd, Fort Worth, Texas. Interment will follow in Crowley Cemetery, 300 N Hampton Road, Crowley, Texas.
