Delmar James Brightwell, 86 passed away, March 22, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born December 26, 1936 to Urey Brightwell and Eastle Clarkson in Protem, Missouri. He graduated from Forsyth High School in Forsyth Missouri. From 1954 to 1962 he proudly served his country in the Air Force. During this time, he met and married the love of his life Wanda Clark on February 9, 1958.
Delmar was an electrician and a mechanic. You could find him on a tractor harvesting the hay and raising cows. He was devoted to his family, and always helping family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Urey and Eastle Brightwell; brothers, Samuel, Donnie, and Jerry Brightwell; sister, Janith Kay Brightwell; brothers-in-law, Jay Godwin and Reece Cutbirth; nephews, Joe Cutbirth, Bruce and Wesley Brightwell.
Delmar is survived by his lovely wife of 65 years, Wanda Brightwell; daughter, Kathryn “Kathy” Taylor, husband, Wes Taylor; son, Ricky Brightwell, wife, Jana Brightwell; Grandchildren, Stefanie Patterson, wife, Hillary Patterson, Brittany Roberts, husband, Ryan Roberts, Sean Patterson, wife, Sydney Patterson, Clay Brightwell, husband, Sergio Reyes, and Brooke Brightwell; brother, Kenneth Brightwell, wife, Josie Brightwell; sister, Dorothy Godwin; brothers-in-law, Don Clark and Charles Clark, wife, Carol Clark; Great Grandchildren, Declan, Shyloh, Aria, and Maeve Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.
