 Deloris (Coltrin) Kennedy

Delores Kennedy passed away September 2, 2024. She was born Nov. 25, 1940 at Carl Junction, Mo to Perry E. and Vadie (Foster) Hall. She attended E. Peoria High School. She got her high school diploma and attended Illinois Central College for a time. In 1959 she went to work for Flemming and Potter Printing Company. She worked there a total of 14 years. She married William D. Coltrin Aug. 8, 1959. She had two sons, James D. Coltrin of Peoria and William R. Coltrin of Grapevine, Texas. Delores divorced William D. in 2001 and married James E. Kennedy on April 19, 2009.He battled a lot of years of heart disease. He passed away Aug 3, 2009. Upon his passing she made her home with her younger son, Bill in Grapevine, Texas Delores had taken up oil painting in her later years and especially enjoyed painting landscapes. She also enjoyed photography and always carried a camera with her. She enjoyed country music and especially Gospel and Bluegrass. She enjoyed Loretta Lynn and George Jones as two of her favorites. She was well traveled and had been to Oahu, Hawaii numerous times as well as Aruba, Bahamas, Ireland, Germany, Hungary, France, Greece, Cancun, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Grand Cayman Islands and Jamaica. She had also been on several cruises. She enjoyed people and life in general. Some of her hobbies were writing children’s stories and songs. She also dearly loved animals. Three of her favorite cats were (a main coon cat), Casey (a short haired cat) and Athena (a long haired black and white cat). These three were rescue cats Delores had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Her oldest brother Doyle Hall died at the age of 59. Her older sister Mary Lou Majors died at 59. Her older brother Paul Dean Hall (Arie) died at the age of 43. Her father, Perry died at 59 and her mother died at age 63. She has one surviving sister, Sandra Brabson, of East Peoria, Illinois who is 7 years younger.

Her remains will be cremated. In lieu of flowers you may contribute to your favorite animal shelter.

Eventually Deloris’s cremated remains will be inurned with her beloved mother in East Peoria Illinois
