Denis Bonham Laymon passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, in Grapevine with his family by his side. He was 80 years of age.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine. Interment will follow in Medlin Cemetery in Trophy Club. Visitation: Family will greet guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mr. Laymon's name to the American Lung Association or the National Parkinson Foundation.
Denis was born July 18, 1935, in Huntington County, Ind., to Ruskin and Lucy Laymon. He grew up in Warren, Ind., and graduated from Indiana University. Denis served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. The family moved to Trophy Club in 1979 and he worked 23 dedicated years at GTE before retiring. He loved playing golf but he loved his family more than anything else.
Denis was preceded in passing by his parents; and his brother, Bruce Laymon of Warren, Ind.
Survivors: Loving wife of nearly 51 years, Mara Jane Laymon; son, Todd Ruskin Laymon of Denton; daughter, Jill Laymon Gabriel and husband, Matthew, of Trophy Club; grandson, Matthew Laymon Cabrera of Trophy Club; brothers, Thomas Laymon and wife, Mary Alice, of Montpelier, Ind. and Stephen Laymon of Warren, Ind.; sister-in-law, Georgina Laymon; and many loving family and friends.
