Born in South Africa, immigrated to America in 1997, and became a citizen of the US in 2007
A man of many talents and passions who was eager to share and teach those around him. He was known for his love of Photography, Botany, and Hiking. Because of these passions he loved to travel and was able to do so frequently.
He was also an avid gardener, handyman, collector, and devoted learner of the bible. A quite man that loved his family, friends, and the Lord with his whole being. He did everything with his whole heart and soul.
He stated his career as Botanists with Diploma in Botanical Research at Pretoria Technical College, then went on to get the Higher national diploma in Botanical Research. He stated his career in 1975 at the Weather Bureau in South Africa. In 1979 Desmond branched out his career in IT and Quality Assurance. Desmond retired in 2018 from OCC as a Senior QA Analyst.
Desmond was devoted to the Lord and his Church. He became a Member of Bible Study Fellowship, where he was a discussion leader. He believed in the Bible Study Fellowship philosophy of studying the bible which led him to help start a class in Keller TX.
Desmond loved to evangelize and longed for opportunities to do so. He prayed for people’s needs, even at times when he was very ill, and got excited when a prayer had been answered.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and devoted brother in Christ.
He will be missed.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
