Diane Lee Fought (née Indridson), affectionately known as Di, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 85. Born on January 23, 1939, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, her life was a testament to her love and dedication to her family and friends.
Diane was devoted to her husband, Tim Fought, who in turn loved her unconditionally. She was a loving mother to her five children and was always there for each of them whenever she was needed. Diane loved her four sisters dearly and was the strength that bound them all together. She had an open door policy for her neighbors and friends and provided love and support with an attentive ear and a shoulder to lean on. She was deeply loved by her family and friends.
Diane was an excellent student and held a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota. Given her love of education, she served on the school board for Little Elm, Texas. Before her retirement, Diane had a successful career spanning several roles, including real estate sales (receiving outstanding salesperson awards), paralegal, and real estate escrow officer. Her professional life was characterized by the same dedication and care she devoted to her personal relationships.
Diane was a talented seamstress, known for crafting exquisite hand-beaded wedding gowns for family and friends. Additionally, her artistic talents extended to oil painting and jewelry making. Diane's hobbies brought her joy and enriched the lives of those around her.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, Skafti Indridson, mother, Gertha Thomasson Indridson, and sisters Sigrid Lorraine Greenleaf, Phyllis Nedrud, and Carol Bergman.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Fought, her five children, Mark Councilman (Tracey), Greg Councilman (Lucinda), Denise Bufton (Darren), Cory Councilman (Kerry) Jill Councilman, her sister Susan Yost, and her eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held to honor Diane's life on September 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas. Diane's life was a beacon of kindness and love, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
