Dianne Lynne Tovey

Dianne Lynne Tovey, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 12th, 2023.

Visitation: 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, December 17,2023 at Lucas Funeral Home Grapevine, Texas. Funeral: 11:00 AM Monday, December 18, 2023, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Colleyville, Texas.

Internment: Chesterton, Indiana at a date to be determined

Dianne Lynne Tovey (nee Newton) was born February 20th, 1960, in Michigan City, Indiana to J. Richard and Beverly Newton. She attended Purdue University and graduated with a Master of Science in Education.

In 1988 she married her high school sweetheart, Jeff Tovey. Dianne resided in Southlake Texas since 1999, where she raised two beautiful children, Jake and Laura.

Dianne was a kind and gentle soul who served others selflessly. She was a board member for the Battered Women’s Foundation and served countless volunteer hours through the National Charity League, Scouts, and school, often without recognition as her nature was to be a humble servant.

Her passion for teaching bilingual kindergarten had a positive impact on all of her students, preparing them for the world as they hatched in her classroom.

Dianne was a loving mother who supported and adored her children without reserve. There was never a dance competition or swim meet she missed.

Dianne was preceded in death by her mother Beverly and her nephew and godson Eric Lucht.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Tovey; Children; Jake and Laura; Father; J Richard Newton (Barbara), Siblings; Cathy Lucht (Rick), John Newton (Linda), Jim Newton (Carrie), Brother-in-Laws; Mike Tovey, Mark Tovey (Mickey), Jim Tovey (Joan) and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
