Dinah Lou Dennis

April 16, 1934 — April 28, 2024

Dinah Lou Dennis, lovingly known as Dino by her family and friends, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, at the age of 90. Born April 16, 1934, to David Earl and Fannie Lou Throop, Dinah Lou was their sole child, and their treasured pride and joy. She was born and raised in Grapevine, Texas, and was deeply proud of her Grapevine roots, which she shared with almost everyone she met.

Dinah Lou loved the outdoors, enjoyed all sports, loved to bake anything, and adored animals; a love she shared with her daddy.
She often spoke of church camp in Glen Rose, where she was baptized in the creek, and she was brought up attending the Church of Christ in Grapevine. She also found a home at the Methodist Church, where she spent many nights in the basement, learning how to square dance, and also helping cook food as an outreach. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she would often watch sermons on the TV in her later years when church became difficult to attend.

Dinah Lou grew up with a very tight-knit group of girls, known as The Chicken Club. These girls didn't lose touch as they grew into women, and many are still connected to this day.

Dinah Lou became a mother in 1953 to David Richard and then added William "Bill" Earl in 1960, and these boys were the loves of her life.

Another love of Dinah's was working for Aviall at Love Field for 50 plus years, until her retirement. She often spoke fondly of her coworkers and really enjoyed going to work and keeping all the boys in line.
After retirement, Dinah Lou found joy in working at the Grapevine Historical Museum for many years. There, she worked alongside some of her dearest friends, Stevie and Helen Jean, and she was always proud to show her family around the museum.

Dino loved her grandkids greatly, and her door was always open for them. She was like a second momma to her grandkids and to many others who adored her and her loving heart. She accepted people no matter their past, no matter their troubles. Her home was home to many over the years, and she loved getting to help others.

Dinah Lou is preceded in death by her parents, David and Fannie Lou, her sons, David and Bill, and a plethora of pups that she dearly loved. She is survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Crystal and Justin White; Chad, Kara, Hannah, Jackson, Simon and Kai Dennis; Ashley, Johnathan, Cade and Keira Jackson; Kaiden Thompson and Lane Bash; Blake, Christina, Rachel, and Lakyn Dennis; Mia Bailey Dennis; and Kassie Dennis, as well as many other close relatives and dear friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Dinah Lou on Saturday, May 11th at 2pm at the Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas.

She will be forever missed, but never forgotten, and we rejoice that she is now resting peacefully in heaven.
