Dominga Gallardo was born on August 28th, 1938, in Mercedes, TX. She grew up with two brothers and one sister, who preceded her in death. Throughout her childhood, she traveled with her family, picking cotton. Her brother introduced her to the love of her life, Luis ‘Papo’ Gallardo, in 1956. Together, Luis and Dominga had six children: Louis, Leo, Ralph, Ruben, Cindy, and angel Elena. The couple also helped to establish their lifelong church, El Camino, which they attended faithfully. Throughout her life, Dominga carried a motherly, kind spirit that led her to work at Grapevine Middle School and also as a caretaker. She was a devoted Christian, a loving wife, and principled mother. Over all else, she loved Christ first. Dominga enjoyed family gatherings, delighted in a game of loteria, and could often be heard singing duets with Papo in church and at home. On February 7th, 2021, she went home to meet the Lord, and to reunite once again with Papo, Elena, and Leo. She is survived by her loving family: Louis & Barbie, Ruben & Teri, Cindy & Lloyd, Ralph Gallardo, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
