Don Richard Shults

Don Richard Shults was born on June 16, 1947, in Grand Prairie, Texas, to Aaron Lawrence and Helen Mae (Beaver) Shults. He passed away in Duncan, on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the age of 76.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Lucas Funeral Home, located at 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, Texas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.

Don married Sherrell "Kim" Holloway on January 26, 1968. Together they raised a daughter, Angela. He worked for Central Freight Lines for 47 years. Don loved to fish and would go anytime he could, some days he would even go in the morning and evening. His favorite spot was Grapevine Lake. Don also enjoyed traveling and took 8 cruises and stayed at 8 resorts in Mexico. During a trip to Jamaica, Don showed his adventurous side by swimming with sting rays and ziplining.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Kim; daughter, Angela Kirkland and husband Calvin; grandchildren: Emily Fisher and husband Blake, Erin Kirkland, and Coby Kirkland; brother, Jerry Shults and wife Chris; sister, Cheryl Moore and husband Rusty; sisters-in-law, Donna Shults and Earlette Shults; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Helen; brothers: Larry Shults, George Shults, and Butch Shults and wife Cheri.
