Donald James Highsmith, born on May 20, 1947, in Jessup Georgia, passed away on January 19, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 77.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Don had a brief career as a registered radiologic technologist and retired after thirty-three years from the US Postal Service. Don was an active member of Keller United Methodist Church since 1986, as an Usher, Resource Center volunteer, and the best Altar Guild husband ever!
He was predeceased by his father Leonard Highsmith Jr., mother Ruth Highsmith Nichols; stepfather Earl Nichols, and his twin brother Ronald.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mary Frances Highsmith children Coy Highsmith, Amber and Justin High, Heather Kimmel, Ashley and Robert Alexander. Grandchildren Breckan Kimmel, Cheryl and Christian Turnley,, Brooklynn Alexander, Gage Kimmel, Carter and Reagan High, and his great-grandson Lucas Turnley. Aunt Nell Pursifull, cousins Gale Lewis, Tom Pursifull, and Tim Pursifull.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Keller United Methodist Church in Keller, Texas Those attending the service are invited to wear their favorite color or Don's favorite color, blue.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to C.A.S.T. For Kids at castforkids.org or the Resource Center at Keller United Methodist Church.
