Donald James Holland of Hurst, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022 at the age of 80 due to complications from open heart surgery. His loving wife and children were by his side.
Don was born on December 15, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Charlie B. and Willie Ethel Holland. He graduated from Trimble Tech High School and went on to have a successful 31 year career with General Motors.
Don was a 30 year member of Life Fellowship Hurst. He was a Fort Worth history enthusiast and spent countless hours driving the streets of Cowtown. He had a passion for cooking for family and friends, especially his church family. He was a lover of old westerns, motorcycles, and fishing. He was a natural born comedian who loved to be the center of attention by making people laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Ann; son Scott Holland and his wife Kim of Hurst; daughters Shawn Holland Miller of Fort Worth and Sharla “Cuddles” Holland of Hurst; 5 grandchildren Lacey (Dana), Haylee (Kyle), Donald James II “DJ” (Joey), Luke, Emiley (Taylor); 3 great grandchildren Boyce “Bear”, Birdey “Bird”, Kelley “Shoebox”. He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter Kelley Raye Miller-Herman.
