Donald Dean Mills

Donald Dean Mills, born on August 17, 1944, in Corinth, Mississippi, passed away on December 15, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a cherished individual whose life was marked by love, dedication to his community, and an unwavering commitment to family.

Donald was the son of Ernestine Rutledge and Wilford Roscoe Mills. He was raised in a nurturing environment that laid the foundation for his many accomplishments. He completed his education at Corinth High School before graduating from Michie High School. His formative years were filled with hard work and strong values, which he carried throughout his life.

Donald devoted nearly 40 years of his life to American Airlines, where his passion for travel blossomed. He found great joy in taking his family on exotic vacations, creating lasting memories that would be fondly reminisced by all. His adventurous spirit and love for exploration reflected his belief in enriching life through experiences shared with loved ones.

On June 1, 1968, he married the love of his life, Erra Moore Mills. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter, celebrating over 56 years of marriage. Donald was a proud father to his sons, Donald Dean Mills Jr. and his wife Amber, and Kevin Andre Mills and his wife Marja. He took great joy in being a grandfather to his grandsons, Jackson and Bradley Mills, as well as his granddaughter, Caylee Mills. The love he shared with his family was evident in every interaction, and his legacy will live on through them.

Donald was deeply committed to giving back to his community. He was a longtime endowed member of the Masons and actively involved with the Keller Lions Club. Through these organizations, he forged meaningful connections and made lasting contributions that touched many lives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his half-brother Adolph Mills, his half-brother Andre Mills, and his half-sister Shirley Mills. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, who will carry forth the values and love he instilled in them.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Donald Dean Mills on January 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Keller Church of Christ, located at 205 South Elm Street, Keller, TX 76248. Family, friends, and community members are invited to gather and honor a remarkable man who touched the lives of many.

Don will be remembered as a beacon of happiness, always striving to make others smile. His warmth and generosity will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
