Donald Robert Ritter

Donald Robert Ritter, age 80, surrounded by his wife, Barbara and children, Teresa, Tom and Susie, peacefully went to be with Lord Jesus Christ on December 14, 2017.

Visitation: The family will greet guests from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine. Funeral Mass: The funeral mass is scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine. Graveside Service: The graveside will begin at 1:30 pm Monday at Grapevine Cemetery.

Don was born to Edwin and Marjorie Ritter on the kitchen table, March 10, 1937 in Cattaraugus, NY. He attended a one room grade school and later when onto RIT to graduate with a degree in Engineering.

Don and Barbara met at a basketball game. They were married for 52 years and have 3 children, Teresa, Tom and Susie. They lived in upstate NY on a hobby farm, where he worked at Overhead Doors and was the on the town board. They later moved to Grapevine, Tx in 1981 where he worked at Vecta until he retired and then established a successful woodworking business with Barbara. He was a devote Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was survived by wife, Barbara, daughter, Teresa (Steven), Susie (Sander) and son, Tom (Patricia) and 3 grandchildren, Luke, Kia, Ellie.
