Donald Edward Stapleton

FORT WORTH -- Don Stapleton, 73, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, with his loving family by his side.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Interment: will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family at the funeral home.
Memorials: May be made to Harbor Light Hospice, www.harborlighhthospice.com , or a favorite charity.
Don was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Fort Worth, to Maurice and Dolly Cox Stapleton. He graduated from Polytechnic High School and attended Abilene Christian College. He was in retail sales most of his life and retired from Macy's after many years. Don was a people person and it could truthfully be said he never met a stranger. He was quick-witted and had a dry sense of humor.
Survivors: Don is survived by sister, Sandra Johnson of Burleson; brother, Doug Stapleton and sister-in-law, Faye, of Euless; special niece and caregiver, Brenda Stocker; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and a multitude of friends.
