Donna Vee Bogues-Bucknor was born on October 29, 1965 in Boston, Massachusetts and passed away on August 29, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 53.
Donna attended Nathan Hill Elementary School, Washington Irving Middle School, West Roxbury High School, and UMASS Boston. Donna was employed at many different jobs throughout the years. These including John Hancock Insurance Company, a track coach at Boston University, The Beeper Company, Ultrack, Mace Security and Sentinel.
As a child, she enjoyed reading, sports (track especially where she participated in the 400 Hurdles and 800m run), being with family, hanging out with friends and going to Bethel Baptist Church.
As an adult, Donna enjoyed coaching track in her free time for elementary, middle, high school, and even college kids. She especially liked coaching hurdles. She spent her free time as a coach for The City of Euless Parks and Community Track Team. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at dinner parties and special events. She loved family BBQ’s as she was the grill master getting everyone together. She was also famous for her BBQ chicken, amazing meatballs, and very tasty sweet potato pie. She also took a passion into sporting events, all things Patriots and her daughters’ track meets and volleyball games.
She was preceded in death by her father, Licelle John Bogues.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her beautiful beloved daughters, Remy Marie Bucknor and Darian Adriana Bucknor both of Fort Worth, Texas; her wonderful mother, Shirley Bogues of Boston, Massachusetts; siblings, Curtis Hughes of Boston, MA, Donald Bogues of Dorchester, Kelvin Bogues of New York; Thelma Simmons and husband, James of Randolph, MA, and Dawn Hinton and husband, Wyman of Chesapeake, VA; 3 Godchildren, Miron Dillard, Shane McDuffy, and Bernie Josue; uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, September 6, 2019 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst with Interment will following Smithfield Cemetery.
