Donna Leta Brock

November 22, 1930 — August 25, 2016

Donna Brock was born November 22, 1930 to Cora Patterson Bell and Monard Lee Bell in Vernon, Texas. She had one older sister, Keta. Donna attended elementary school in Farmers Valley, high school in Chillicothe, attended Abilene Christian and Midwestern Universities.

She was a member of Wilbarger Church of Christ in Vernon where she was baptized at the age of 12. A long life of loving Jesus led her to say, “I am a Christian in the making...” Every hope was placed in the love and blood of Jesus. This brought her through difficult times.

Donna married Jim Brock at the home of her sister on November 24, 1949. Jim and Donna were blessed with two sons, David and Monty and one daughter, Marsha. The family lived in various places including Vernon and Austin before moving to New England for 25 years.

Homes there included two in Massachusetts and two in New Hampshire. Later years were spent in Arkansas and Texas. The last home before moving to Meadowood Assisted Living was in the San Antonio area as part of Monty and Tina’s family. Donna enjoyed lots of family time in the garden, pool, or one of Tina’s great family dinner parties.

During all of the years the family remained extremely close in spite of the miles between and also hosted many friends over the years under their roof. Deanne Cabiness was the first to cook lobster in our home. Celeste Blackburn claimed the ‘prophets room’ in another.

In addition to mother and homemaker, Donna was a success in the business world. But her love remained with her family. She loved to laugh, and laughed easily especially when passing funny birthday cards around the dinner table.

Donna is survived by her husband Jim and children; David, Marsha, and Monty. Five grandchildren; Micah, Matthew, Hannah, Marcie and Madeline. And four great grandchildren; Liam, Anna, Parker and Peyton. She was also close to her adorable daughter-in-law Tina, and her great-daughters in-law Michelle and Lindsay were so special to her. She also enjoyed getting to know her first great-son-in-law Eliot in the past year.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”
