Donna Lee Meester

Donna Self Meester went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2018. A memorial service will be held at Normandale Baptist Church on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Donna was born on October 31, 1952 in Shawnee, OK. Her family moved to White Settlement, TX in 1958 where she attended White Settlement schools and graduated in 1971. She married the love of her life, Stephen Meester on May 2, 1981 and made their home in Burleson, TX. Donna was the oldest of four siblings who selflessly took on the role of the family matriarch after the passing of their father in 2008. With her devoted husband by her side, she fought a courageous 2 year battle with a hideous disease with grace & dignity. Our hearts are heavy but we take comfort knowing that she is at peace. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and nana who will be dearly missed. Donna was preceded in death by her father Melvin “Pete” Self. Survivors are her husband of 37 years, Stephen Meester; son Brian Wayne Parkhill and wife, Sandra; mother, Mary Jo Self; Grandchildren, Brian Wayne Parkhill, Jr and Nikki, Wyatt Nicholas Parkhill and wife Norma; Garrett Lee Parkhill; Clare Evonne Parkhill; great grandchildren Ava Peyton Parkhill and Easton Cole Parkhill; brother Mel Self and wife Connie; sister, Cheryl Pierce and husband, Duane; sister, Terrie Blevins and husband Tommy; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the ALS Foundation.
