Dora “Nell” Burns, 82, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Nell was born January 5, 1941, in Woodson, Texas to Edgar and Dora Watson.
She lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored her. She had a heart of gold, loved everyone, and never spoke an unkind word. Family time was always precious to Nell. She made family gatherings a joyous occasion, spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals, especially banana pudding and magic bars. Above all, Nell was a caring, thoughtful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was such a beautiful soul that will be greatly missed.
Nell was preceded in death by her son Timothy (Timmy) Allen Burns; parents, Edgar and Dora Watson; son in law, Mark A. Mills; great grandchildren, Ryan and Ruby Mills; great great-grandchild Luna Heckert; 5 sisters and 8 brothers.
Survivors: Devoted husband of 64 years, Timothy Burns; daughter Judy Mills; daughter Sharon Mize and husband, Don; daughter Virginia Howard and husband, Steve; daughter Paula Bailey and husband, Danny; grandchildren Jennifer, Jonathan, Christy, Jessica, Christopher, Shannon, Joey, Nathan, Caitlin, and Brandon; great grandchildren Ivan, Reagan, Isabella, Riley, Adrianna, Dylan, Blake, Gage, Emily, Clay, Jackson, Audrey, Ariel, Brooklyn; great great-grandchild Stormy; sister Dorothy Evans and a host of loving and extended family members and friends.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, February 15, 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Saint Michael Catholic Church in Bedford. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
